About Me

As an artist in Devon, printmaking has been my obsession for the last 20 years, after visiting a local printmaking exhibition.  I make linocuts, collagraphs, drypoints and monoprints depending on the image I want to create. Designing linocuts and then carving them is an addictive process and full of surprises.

In my studio I have my own small press, but I also use the presses at Salcombe Art Club.   I help organise Pressgang Printmakers which meets in Salcombe Art Club in Salcombe, Devon, during the winter. We also put on regular printmaking exhibitions as a group, in Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

My artwork focuses on the local landscape of Devon and the creatures and plants that inhabit it. I hope that my prints help jog the memories of familiar places around Devon and the birds and animals that live here.

Handmade original prints have a wonderful feel to them and even though I print limited editions, all have very tiny differences that make them unique.

An artist in Devon and beyond

My artwork has been displayed at RWA, Bristol, Topsham and Tore Abbey, I also regularly take part in exhibitions at Salcombe, Kingsbridge and Totnes and Dartington.

You can also find me at Artizan Gallery and the South Hams Art Forum which organises the South Hams Arts Trail.

Tate Britain have stocked some of my cards. I am thrilled that I have my prints in 6 books by Alan Marshall showing the work of British printmakers; the latest one is called Beauty of the Beast published at the end of 2022.

I make small, handmade concertina books, some are pop-ups and have linocut illustrations and have written quotes in calligraphy as part of the book. Some concertina books show images of local beach and Dartmoor scenes that are very popular.
